Asset Management

An operational solar asset that is not actively managed will underperform. The degradation happens slowly. A monitoring gap here, a fault that sits unresolved for weeks there, a performance ratio that drifts without anyone noticing. Over a twenty-five-year asset life, the difference between a well-managed and a poorly managed system runs into hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Arc is the long-term oversight layer. We monitor performance against the modelled baseline, manage the O&M relationship, produce structured financial and technical reporting, and plan lifecycle interventions at the right point in the asset's life.

Asset Management and Operations & Maintenance are two complementary services in Arc's delivery line. Asset Management is the strategic and performance oversight; O&M is the physical maintenance. Some clients engage Arc for one, some for both. The two functions can be delivered by the same Arc team or governed separately depending on the asset and the owner's preference.

Most commercial solar asset management is run by installation contractors with asset management as a secondary service. The reporting is thin, the documentation is patchy, and the asset owner gets the bare minimum needed to keep the system on the balance sheet without drama.

Arc's Asset Management comes from a firm whose other side is professional consultancy work for property funds and institutional asset owners. The reporting standards, the documentation discipline, and the accountability framework reflect that. The work is operational, but the paperwork is fund-grade.

Where Arc is also the O&M contractor on the same asset, the structural separation of the asset management and O&M functions is maintained internally. The asset manager governs the O&M contractor, including where the O&M contractor is also Arc.
