Operations & Maintenance

Operations and maintenance for commercial solar, residential block PV systems, and renewable energy assets across the UK. Hands-on maintenance with the documentation and reporting discipline you would expect from a consultancy-led firm.
Delivery service
An operational service alongside our independent consultancy offering. Different commercial relationship, different risk profile, engaged independently.
what this service is

The physical maintenance of the asset, run properly.

An operational solar asset needs hands-on maintenance: routine inspection, fault response, performance testing, electrical compliance, and the periodic interventions that protect a twenty-five-year asset life. Most asset owners outsource this to an O&M contractor. Arc is one of the contractors that does it.
We hold direct O&M contracts across commercial rooftop systems, residential blocks, and community-scale ground-mount solar farms. The work is done by our delivery team — physically attending site, carrying out the maintenance, and reporting to the asset owner in a format their finance and operations teams can actually use.
Where the same client has engaged Arc for asset management (the strategic oversight service in our consultancy line), the O&M work is carried out under a separate contract and managed by a different Arc team. The structural separation matters; it is what makes the asset management role credible even when the O&M contractor is also Arc.
what we deliver

What we deliver.

Four core O&M workstreams.
01

Preventive maintenance

Annual inspection, thermal imaging, string testing, cleaning, and the documentation to support warranty entitlement. Programme set against manufacturer recommendations and site conditions.
02

Reactive fault response

Fault response to agreed SLA. Monitoring alerts triaged, on-site response coordinated, repair completed, system returned to operation. Resolution documented and reported.
03

Electrical compliance & testing

Periodic electrical inspection and testing to current regulations. Certificate documentation maintained for the asset's compliance record.
04

Performance reporting

Monthly or quarterly reporting on system performance, fault history, and forward maintenance schedule. Written for the asset owner's operations and finance teams, not for engineers.
why arc delivery

Maintenance delivered with the documentation of an consultancy firm.

Most commercial solar O&M is run by installation contractors with O&M as a secondary service. The reporting is thin, the documentation is patchy, and the asset owner gets the bare minimum needed to keep the system running.
Arc's O&M comes from a firm whose other side is professional consultancy work for property funds and institutional asset owners. The reporting standards, the documentation discipline, and the accountability framework reflect that. The work is hands-on, but the paperwork is fund-grade.
Where you want strategic oversight of an O&M contractor rather than Arc as the O&M contractor, the Asset Management service in our consultancy line is the right route. They are different products and we sell them separately.
frequently asked

Questions clients ask before engaging.

Yes. We have our own delivery team for routine maintenance and reactive fault response. Specialist sub-trades are engaged through our supply chain where required, but Arc holds the contract with the asset owner and is accountable for delivery.
O&M is the physical maintenance of the system: hands-on work, attending site, fixing faults, completing tests. Asset Management is strategic oversight: performance monitoring against modelled yield, contractor governance, financial reporting, lifecycle planning. They are different services with different deliverables, engaged independently. A client can engage either, both, or neither.
Commercial rooftop PV, residential leasehold block PV (including communal systems), ground-mount and community-scale solar farms, and battery energy storage systems alongside PV. Single sites and multi-site contracts.
Yes. We regularly take over O&M from a previous contractor. The transition includes a baseline inspection, monitoring set-up, and an honest assessment of system state delivered to the asset owner before the contract starts.
